Each club is part of a District, (Australia has 3 Districts) which are then divided into Areas. The Zonta club of Melbourne’s West is one of 5 clubs in District 23, Area 1. In addition to International Convention, Zonta members come together every 2 years at a District Conference, and annually at an Area meeting. The District 23 Conference for 2015 will be held in Adelaide, South Australia. In Victoria, members from Areas 1, 4 and 5 (Tasmania) hold a joint meeting with keynote speakers and a range of topics.
Zonta International envisions a future in which women’s rights are recognised as human rights and every woman is literate and able to achieve her full potential with equal opportunity to access education, health care, legal and economic resources and to live without fear of gender based violence.
